The postgraduate diploma in educational technology programme offered at Botho University aims at training the 21 st century educators to integrate emerging technologies and tools into their classroom teaching and learning processes. The programme will enable contemporary teachers and educators to engage their students in a way that learner -centeredness will be the focus of learning and facilitation of teaching. This programme is valuable to any professional who might want a touch of modern technology in the field of education and related disciplines . The programme consists of eight core (required) modules . Some modules may have pre-requisites. . The PGDET programme is a one–year programme and will be delivered through the Blended and Distance Learning modes. The programme can be studied by both national and international students.

Admissions Criteria

  • Any recognised Bachelor’s Degree (NCQF Level 7)

Graduates of this programme can:

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of curriculum development theories as they apply to the use of modern technology
  • Apply knowledge of Microsoft Windows to manage electronic files and folders using applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access as tools for teaching. Manage computer and other related resources in their areas of operation
